Sam's plain-English summary

The FAA is seeking bids to repair a chiller system at the Jacksonville Air Route Traffic Control Center. Bids are due by August 31, 2026 at 9 PM Eastern time—this is a normal timeframe, not unusually rushed. The solicitation does not explicitly mention bonding or insurance requirements in the available information, though you should verify this by reviewing the full solicitation details on SAM.gov. Government construction projects typically get disqualified for: (1) missing the deadline, (2) failing to meet technical specifications for the equipment or work, (3) submitting incomplete bids or missing required documentation, (4) not demonstrating relevant experience with similar HVAC/chiller systems, and (5) failing any security clearance or facility access requirements for work at an air traffic control center. You should carefully review the full scope of work and all requirements before bidding.

This bid is reserved — Small Business set-aside

Reserved for small businesses — only firms under the SBA size standard for this work can bid; large companies are excluded.

If you meet that requirement, this could be a fit if: You are an HVAC contractor or mechanical systems company with experience repairing or maintaining large commercial chiller systems, ideally with prior work on critical infrastructure or federal facilities. Your team should be able to obtain appropriate security clearance if required and can meet any technical certifications needed for this type of equipment.
